We want you to be healthy and fit for the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON

The final phase of training for the marathon is all about fine tuning. To play it safe, your last long run should take place at least three weeks before the marathon, unless you are aiming at a time of under 2:45 hurs. Now it is important to get enough sleep and to eat a balanced diet to ensure that you will arrive at the starting line on September 29th fresh and full of energy. By no means should you try to make up for any lost training now. The increased level of training you have just been through often leads to illness, injury and exhaustion. Take care of any injuries or health issues so you won’t endanger your participation in the 2019 BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. Especially in cases of exhaustion, it is fine to take a two-day rest, as this regeneration will not endanger your form. You can only win. If you are currently sick or starting to feel sick, you should consider not participating in order to not risk your health.  If you are having medical issues, be sure to contact your sports physician in time. Regardless of your health status, it is always a good idea to undergo an annual preventative health check. Ill or injured participants who are unsure of whether or not they should participate can visit the Medical Team on the MARATHON EXPO for a free consultation.

The training advices of marathon champion Uta Pippig will help you through the last weeks of preparation. The 3 time Boston and BERLIN-MARATHON winner has joined our team of experts and gives advice for all runners
