From April 9 to 11, 2021, runners, inline skaters, wheelchair athletes and hand cyclists are invited to participate in the VIRTUAL GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON. This extra event is a completely independent event. Events for all ages

At the VIRTUAL GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON, there will be a 10k option in addition to the 21.0975-kilometer event that gives the race its name. With the shorter distance, SCC EVENTS is deliberately catering to runners who may have only found their enjoyment of endurance sports during the current pandemic and now want to face their first challenges. No matter which distance is chosen, it must be completed in one piece (of course short breaks are allowed). If desired, the result can be uploaded to the corresponding website via a wearable device that is to be carried on the course, with an official ranking to follow after additional registration. The organiser also is meeting the current increased need to exercise for the whole family with a special Kids-Family offer.

Starter package with charity

You can participate for a fee of 7 euros. In addition, national interested parties and EU citizens can book a limited premium package with an exclusive medal and other surprises include is a charity contribution to The Human Safety Net. The Human Safety Net is a worldwide community initiative of the international Generali Group, in which people help people with the aim of developing the potential of those living in difficult conditions. The charity campaign aims to send a clear signal for social cooperation during these challenging times.

From Berlin to the World #virtualberlinhalf

The VIRTUAL GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON acts under the motto “From Berlin to the World” as well as the SCC EVENTS claim that “You are not alone.” Accompanying social media measures will make the VIRTUAL GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON an act of global togetherness for the sports scene over the course of the event weekend. Participants from Berlin will post the typical sights of the capital during their runs. In return, all other national and international starters are called upon to photograph highlights from their races and post them online using the #virtualberlinhalf.

On wheels through the capital: First the half, then the whole thing

The VIRTUAL GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON is a great way to kick off your inline skating season. It doesn't have to be the half marathon event — the 10k will do just fine, too. You can build on this and then participate in the 40th anniversary of the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON on August 22. Your season can then culminate in the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON on the last weekend in September (there are still spots available). Now that's a plan.

August 22: 40th anniversary of the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON

The 40th anniversary of the GENERALI BERLINER HALF MARATHON will take place on August 22, 2021. There are only a few starting spots left for this big anniversary event. So, if you want to be part of the great celebration of endurance athletes in the middle of the German capital, then secure your spot here.

Thrilled to be part of it: You can still secure a starting spot for the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON

“Hey, are there still starting spots for the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON?”: this is a question our dear colleagues from the Event Service department hear several times a day. Their answer follows: “Unfortunately registration is closed and the lottery results have been announced, but guaranteed starting spots are still available from our official tour operators as well as through our charity partners. Hand cyclists, wheelchair athletes and inline skaters can still register.”

Recipe idea: Frido's-Anti-Frost-Booster

Are you among those who are already preparing for the VIRTUAL GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON? Are your running shoes carefully placed between your winter boots? Are you pulling on your winter hat or pulling your sled? 😉 We have just the right thing for you: an anti-frost booster from our mascot Frido. Especially on cold days, it is important to add enough nutrients and vitamins to your stressed body, so that you can be ready for anything.

Contents: Apple juice (ideally freshly squeezed), instant flakes and iodized salt.
Recipe: Heat the apple juice of your choice in the microwave. Very important: do not overheat, just warm it up slightly, because the vitamin C contained in it is not heat stable, and we want the vitamin C to strengthen our immune systems. Then add a tablespoon of instant energy flakes. The flakes will dissolve and provide the body with high-quality carbohydrates. This wonderful symbiosis is crowned by a pinch of iodized salt. Iodized salt? Yes! The iodine and sodium chloride it contains boost metabolism and bind fluids in the body. Last but not least, stir it up again. Now take a deep breath and enjoy Fridos anti-freeze booster to the full!
