100 days left on your Road 2 Berlin Legend!
There are now exactly 100 days until the start of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. And that means there are only 100 days before your Road 2 Berlin Legend enters the decisive home stretch — through the Brandenburg Gate and down the grand boulevard, Strasse des 17. Juni, whose eponymous event is commemorated today on June 17. And we don’t want to forget to mention this tidbit either: it’s Paul Tergat’s birthday, who set a new marathon record here in 2003!
But no matter where in the world you come from, what motivates you and what your personal story is, when you join all the other athletes at the starting line on September 24-25 on the Strasse des 17. Juni, you will all be united by one goal: to finish the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON and to become part of our history as a #berlinlegend.
In the weeks leading up to the start, we will be following some of the participants (and those helping out) on their Road 2 Berlin Legend. We hope to show you how diverse this journey is, where our athletes come from, what ups and downs they have experienced and, of course, the anticipation of the race in their own personal journey. There is Stefan Orben, for example, who always has his partner on his side when he runs, as the 29-year-old is blind. Or Nicole Altenhof: she also lives for running and loves to share her enthusiasm with kids. Nicole is responsible for the Bambini Run at the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. You can look forward to these and many more stories that we will be presenting to you in the coming weeks.
One thing is for certain: you are not alone on your Road 2 Berlin. This could be you! Feel the joy - run for joy!

If you’ve always wanted to know what it feels like to cross the finish line at twice the speed, we recommend joining in the inline skaters’ race as part of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. On the same course as the runners, they will start out on Saturday afternoon. This competition is also ideal for all those who want to come to Berlin, but not only to just cheer on their favourite runners. With the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON Inline Skating, they can have their own marathon experience, which can also be mastered with fun and success with much less preparation. Here, too, we promise pure excitement as you race through the Brandenburg Gate to the finish line. A real insider tip is the skaters’ party on Saturday evening. The party goes well into the night — after all, the skaters already earned their medals.
Good to know: It is still possible to register for the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON Inline Skating. You can do it now!
