  • MOVE Programme
  • Media appointments

Berlin has a new landmark - and in the best neighbourhood! To mark the 50th anniversary of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, the MOVE - Home of the BERLIN-MARATHON was officially opened yesterday afternoon. Until 30 September, the spectacular building right next to the Brandenburg Gate will house the ‘50 Years of the BERLIN-MARATHON’ exhibition as well as a fantastic sports and cultural programme. The MOVE is open daily from 8 am to 10 pm. Admission to the exhibition and all events is free.

Whether evening concerts or readings, including with Hajo Schumacher, morning runs, yoga and Pilates sessions - the varied programme at MOVE has something for everyone. Tasty food and drinks are also available at MOVE.

The exhibition ‘50 years of the BERLIN MARATHON’ offers entertaining and interesting insights into the development of the event. A lot has changed since the first start in 1974: in 1974, the classic running outfit was the fine rib vest - today there is an entire running equipment industry. Communication was also different: instead of smartphones, there was landline telephony with a dialling disc. The BERLIN MARATHON reflects 50 years of sporting and contemporary history.
